Bring the Joy!

Principal ponderings...
It is a little strange for me that tomorrow everyone will return to work, but I will not.  I just couldn't let the first day back after vacation happen without sending out a quick message.  I see that Dianna has already been busy at work, anxious to help the school get off to a great start in the new year!

My message for this post is a simple one.  It's all about the joy.  The holiday break is usually full of joy for all of us.  We slow down and spend time with family and friends.  We give to others and experience the joy of the holidays.  And now it is time to come back to work.  But that does not mean that we need to be without the joy of the holidays.  I say...bring the joy with you!  You have had lots of time to renew, rejuvenate and return refreshed.  The joy that you experienced during the holiday break...bring it with you when you come back to work.  Bring the joy into the school, into your classrooms.  Share your joy with our students.  How you present yourself to them is how they will respond to your teaching.  If you bring the joy to them, they will experience joy in the learning process.

My little Emerson has brought joy to our home, and I know that wherever I go, I will bring that joy with me.  How will you bring the joy to our students this week?
Currently reading:
So I did not reach my goal of 200 books in 2014.  First trimester exhaustion and then a 10 day hospital stay and early arrival in December put a little damper in reaching my goal.  I did manage to read 160 books this past year.  Not too bad.  And it's a new year so it's time for a new goal.  I am going to reset my goal for 200 books in 2015.  I think I can, I think I can!  Right now, Emerson and I have lots of board books and picture books to work on together!

Have a great week back!  Miss all of you, but I am loving my new job of being a momma to my little peanut!
